Welcome to Swynshire is a fantasy world set in the make believe county of Swynshire, England. The stories centre around the mysterious shop owner, Tom, his ward, Taylor, and Taylors close nit group of friends while they uncover the mysteries that are abound in their town of Waldburgh-on-Lay.
The first story from within the borders of Swynshire was The Collector. A student Stop Motion short that introduced the character of Thomas Williams as he played a dangerous game with a demon that had been trapped for centuries. Welcome to Swynshire: The Collector was released on November 11th 2011 online and can be found on Vimeo here, and YouTube here.
Creating stories from Swynshire
Though The Collector was the first story to be released Swynshire has seen stories being penned and concepts being created as far back as 2004 with the original single page comics chronicling the adventures of Taylor as he navigated his life. This also laid the way for other spin off ideas to be outlined.
Other Story arcs included the Order of the Tentacle, Shadow Play, a series of shorts presented by the Brigadier General at the Waldburgh-on-Lay theatre (of which one was created) and a 2D animation entitled Project 13. Though these stories have yet to be brought to life we at Stitched Puppet Studio would love to see some more come to life one day and strive to find ways to make it happen.
